National Erebus Memorial unveiling

Air New Zealand is supporting eligible family members and Operation Overdue representatives travelling to Christchurch for the unveiling ceremony on Sunday 13 December 2026.

Please complete this form to request return domestic flights. Our travel team will review your details and contact you about arrangements. Completing this form does not confirm a flight booking.

The programme for Sunday 13 December 2026 includes three parts:

· 11:30am - Private unveiling for Erebus families
· 12:30pm - Commemorative ceremony followed by light refreshments
· 3pm - Tree planting near the memorial

Please allow travel time between Christchurch Airport and the venue. You may choose to arrive on an earlier date or return on a later date. Flight preferences are subject to confirmation.

2. Travel Eligibility

Flight eligibility will be checked by the organisers before complimentary travel can be confirmed.

Connection with Antarctic Flight TE901 passengers or crew *

Travel Eligibility will be checked before travel is confirmed. Travel eligibility for families covers spouses, parents, siblings and their partners, and children and their partners. Travel eligibility also includes members of Operation Overdue.

3. Traveller information

Add everyone requesting flights, including travellers who may require paid tickets. Traveller 1 is the primary contact. Names must match the identification used for travel.

Travellers who are not eligible for complimentary flights may be included in the same request. Paid travel, group booking arrangements, payment options and any limits on additional travellers are subject to confirmation by the Air New Zealand travel team. No paid ticket will be arranged without confirming the applicable cost and payment arrangements.

4. Requested flights

Select your preferred flights to and from Christchurch. The programme starts at 11:30 am on 13 December. If arriving that day, allow enough time to reach the memorial venue. You may request travel on earlier or later dates. Any permitted travel date range is subject to Air New Zealand confirmation.
